More about objects of examination →
What is examined
- the material's social, political and informational context;
- political and ideological characteristics of a text, image, speech or document;
- the nature of public communication, its addressee and conditions of dissemination;
- programme documents, symbols, slogans and relationships between them;
- similarities and differences between the submitted materials and communication models;
- the limits of specialist knowledge needed to answer the questions posed.
Scientific and methodological basis
The material is considered within the available social and political, informational, historical and situational context, rather than in isolation: timing, source, participants and addressee, conditions of dissemination, related documents and events are taken into account.
The examination section records source data, the analytical features used, the sequence of analysis and the link between established characteristics and final conclusions. If a question exceeds political science knowledge, this is identified separately and may require an interdisciplinary examination.
Typical questions
- what the material's social and political orientation is;
- which context is relevant to its interpretation;
- which political and ideological characteristics are reflected in the submitted material;
- which features allow the nature of public activity or communication to be described;
- what role symbols, slogans, programme documents and other elements play in the material's overall structure.
